Bio
When it comes to the world of entertainment, everyone wants a friend on the inside.

Viewers of "Backstage with Barry Nolan" have two.

Host Barry Nolan, and contributing reporter and senior producer Sara Edwards, take viewers inside the velvet rope with access to the four corners of the entertainment world. Whether it's movies, music, television or fashion, Nolan and Edwards share stories with a unique attitude and irreverence. After all, it's only entertainment.

While other programs provide quick 30-second sound bites with the stars and little more than glorified gossip, "Backstage" goes in-depth and looks at what happens when the cameras stop rolling. A friend-in-the-know, "Backstage" provides the real scoop about Hollywood, celebrities and the entertainment world.

The one-hour, live format moves quickly, featuring celebrity news, musical performances, segments on live theater, and stories about up-and-comers who may not be household names-yet.

"The Main Dish" kicks things off with the big news story of the day. Other regular segments include: "What Are They Really Like," a look at stars after they've let their guards down; "Trailer Park," a sneak peek at upcoming films even before the trailers hit theaters; and "Word Play," featuring authors whose books have made the jump to the big screen.

Barry Nolan is a multi-Emmy Award-winning broadcast journalist with almost three decades of reporting expertise. He has the connections and credibility to get A-list guests to open up and industry insiders to dish. Nolan is no stranger to the performance side of the camera, having appeared in films such as "Birdcage," "Primary Colors" and in the iconic series, "Seinfeld."

Sara Edwards has logged more miles on the red carpet than most of today's starlets combined. Her comfortable style and Emmy Award-winning work give her the Hollywood street-cred that has helped her land interviews with the likes of Julia Roberts, Dustin Hoffman, Denzel Washington, Clint Eastwood, Nicole Kidman, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.

The addition of CN8's new Washington, D.C. studio allows for on-site access to some of the capital's premier celebrity fundraisers and events.

"Backstage with Barry Nolan" airs exclusively on CN8, The Comcast Network, weeknights from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. The show re-airs weekdays 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Miss a show? No problem. Every night's "Backstage with Barry Nolan" is available to Comcast Digital cable customers via ON DEMAND for up to three days following their broadcast.
